Ben Fry and Casey Reas have released a beta of Processing, “a programming language and environment for people who want to program images, animation, and sound.”
It’s Java based, it’s easy to learn, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun to play around with. Substrate (via mefi) is a fine example.
Ben Fry was kind enough to sit for a since1968 interview two years ago.
